Fearless Fundraising for Board Members: How to Secure Major Gifts without Major Anxiety
This highly motivational training is designed to introduce staff and board members to the concept of a major gift program and to overcome the board member’s natural aversion to fund raising activities. Your Pathway facilitator will guide participants through a discussion of what a major gifts program is and why it is one of the most cost effective development strategies a non-profit can employ. He or she will then help individual board members connect with their inner passion for your cause and develop a personal story they can use when cultivating and soliciting major gift prospects. Finally, the facilitator will train participants to gracefully and effectively ask for a major gift. Highly interactive and ideal for board retreats, this popular Pathway training program will help infuse your board with a passion for fund raising and give them the tools and courage they need to participate effectively. Introduction to Fundraising
Fundraising is a challenging and nerve-wracking experience for many people. However, the enormous rewards that can come from following a tried and true process make the experience, some say, fun. In this six-week course, you will learn how to build the support system that lets you ask for and receive funds, how to research and prepare a proposal, and how to build a strong core of board or volunteer support. You will also write and edit a basic proposal for your organization. There will be ample opportunity for individual attention. Introduction to the Grant Writing Process
Grant writing success can be significantly increased when the process is integrated with an organization’s strategic goals and priorities. Likewise, cooperation between management, program and development staff on an application can strengthen the final proposal and build organizational stability. While working on a specific grant application, your staff will learn about the unique roles of various staff positions and how they contribute to a successful and cooperative approach to grant writing. Strategic planning is essential for the long-term success of any organization. This class will give you an overview of the concept for a written development plan. Organized for development professionals and executive directors, you will understand how to coordinate the organization’s strategic plan and operating budget then support them with a development plan.
